How we help

To serve our Maryland communities and help individuals achieve more,
SECU MD Foundation focuses on three program areas that deliver impact across age, geography and level of current financial education.

Scholarships

We help college students
take the next step in their educational journeys.

Grants

We support organizations that support Maryland.

Financial wellness

We educate our neighbors so they can achieve their best lives.

Our roots go back nearly 70 years to the founding of the State Employees Credit Union, or SECU.

Built on the philosophy of “people helping people,” SECU, its employees and its members have always played a vital role in supporting Maryland’s communities.

...but more could be done

In 2017, SECU started the SECU MD Foundation as a stand-alone 501(c)(3) organization. With a dedicated team and resources, we can fully focus on our vision of creating stronger Maryland communities by empowering individuals to achieve personal and financial wellness.
