SECU Donates to University of Maryland Children’s Hospital

SECU will donate nearly $11,000 to the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital through its Goals for Kids program.

SECU and the Baltimore Blast launched the Goals for Kids program late last year to celebrate SECU’s sponsorship of the Major Arena Soccer League champion Blast, which moved their home games to SECU Arena on the Towson University campus at the beginning of the 2017-18 season.

Through Goals for Kids, SECU pledged to donate $100 to the University of Maryland Medical Center Children’s Hospital for each of the 109 goals scored during their 2017-2018 regular season and playoff home games.

The University of Maryland Medical Center Children’s Hospital is part of the University of Maryland Medical Center and combines state-of the-art medicine with family-centered care to treat children throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

“SECU has a long history of giving back to the communities we serve, and we are happy to make this donation to the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital through our sponsorship of the Blast,” says SECU President and CEO Rod Staatz. “Both SECU and the Blast embody a commitment to excellence and a dedication to serving Marylanders. We hope our support will help UMCH continue to advance its mission to provide the best possible care for children of all ages.”
