SECU MD Fundation Awards Tynes Scholarships to Five Morgan State University Students

Five students enrolled in Morgan State University’s Graves School of Business are the first scholarship recipients of the SECU MD Foundation’s newly established Donald Tynes, Sr. Scholarship Program. The recipients are: Kiley Williams Baltimore, MD Major: Information Science and Systems Imani Dews Baltimore, MD Major: Finance Emanuel Jones Baltimore, MD Major: Management Information Systems Joianna Wallace Windsor Mill, MD Major: Information Systems Daisha Madden Windsor Mill, MD Major: Business Management Introduced earlier this year by the newly formed SECU MD Foundation, the Scholarship Program supports the Foundation’s mission to contribute to and support the educational needs in the communities served by SECU, Maryland’s largest credit union. The Donald Tynes Sr. Scholarship recognizes the numerous contributions made by Donald Tynes, Sr., a longtime member of SECU’s Board of Directors. Each of the Tynes Scholarship recipients will receive a $2,000 scholarship to help them further their studies. The Scholarship was open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled in Morgan State’s Business School. “The SECU MD Foundation is dedicated to helping people in our communities reach their full potential through education. We are honored to offer a scholarship in Mr. Tynes’ name that showcases his ongoing commitment to helping Morgan State University students achieve their dreams,” says SECU President and CEO Rod Staatz. The Tynes Scholarship is one of three scholarship programs offered through the SECU MD Foundation. The others are the University System of Maryland Scholarship (USM) Program and the State Employee Scholarship Program.
