‘K’s for Kids’ donation to benefit children and young adults at Kennedy Krieger

– SECU, Maryland’s largest credit union, has announced a collaboration with the Baltimore Orioles to benefit the Kennedy Krieger Institute through ‘K’s for Kids’. Each time an Orioles’ pitcher throws a strikeout at Camden Yards, SECU will donate $50 to Kennedy Krieger.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Baltimore Orioles, a staple of our city, to help transform the lives of children and families that depend on Kennedy Krieger,” said Dave Sweiderk, President and CEO of SECU. “As a locally based business, we’re committed to serving with heart by making positive contributions to our members and community.”

The Kennedy Krieger Institute is dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults with disorders of the brain and nervous system through groundbreaking research, innovative treatments and life-changing education. As a part of the sponsorship, SECU will present the donation to the Kennedy Krieger Institute at the end of the Orioles’ 2019 season.

SECU Supports Kennedy Krieger Institute with Ks For Kids

“We are incredibly grateful to SECU and the Baltimore Orioles for naming us as this year’s ‘K’s for Kids’ recipient,” said Dr. Bradley Schlaggar, president and CEO of Kennedy Krieger Institute. “We depend on donations to continue our vital mission of helping each child achieve their best life through innovative research, therapies, education and our community programs.”

In addition to its support for Kennedy Krieger, SECU most recently partnered with the Baltimore Blast soccer team to generously donate $11,000 to the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital. During the 2018 – 2019 season, SECU donated $100 for every goal scored by the Baltimore Blast during home games at the SECU Arena in Towson.
